I got this email and audibly gasped, sent it to the team, and said “OH MY GOD I NEED TO TALK TO THIS WOMAN ASAP!”
SUBJECT: Catfished Widow
MESSAGE: I was widowed 2 yrs ago, joined a dating app, met someone, chatted for 2 months and then realized he was conning me! How dare he! But it’s been so much fun, I haven’t ended it
I’m not going to spoil too much of the story, because you really have to hear it from Jessica herself, but this is not a successful catfish. Or, maybe it was, because Jessica sort of scammed him back? Con failed successfully? I don’t know.
More than that, though, today’s is a story about a brave widow tossing herself back into the dating pool and having it go… well, not so great. But she didn’t stay knocked down. She’s trying again.
