I took a month off of work, but not a month off reading. In fact, this break was exactly what I have been craving: I loaded up my Libby app and requested tons of ARCs on NetGalley and I read in 9 different countries. And on the flight home? I read some more!
π The Academy by Elin Hilderbrand and Shelby Cunningham was absolutely what I wanted it to be. You go to Elin Hilderbrand for layered points of view and decadent landscapes, and while she retired from her Nantucket Novels, sheβs launching a new career with her daughter, Shelby. The Academy takes place at a middling East Coast boarding school, where all of the Hilderbrand trademarks come into play: class dynamics, sex, friendship and people being more than what meets the eye. This is the beginning of a new era for her (and Shelby!) and Iβm seated and present for it.
