Sorry to go off topic a bit but I just finished It Ends With Us by Colleen Hoover. I loved this book and stayed up till almost midnight a couple of nights reading. The author’s note at the end makes it even better but don’t read it until the end. It isn’t Nantucket but EH fans would probably enjoy this book.
YOU MADE ME READ THESE!! And I'm so glad - totally hooked now. Always considered it a 'mom' book...which I didn't think I was ready for at 33. But alas...
Hotel Nantucket was truly a delight. I, too, was VERY surprised that I enjoyed it. My sister in law got me 3 Elin books for Christmas and now I feel also very guilty for not reading them yet.
You have to read the Island! Mother and sister plus daughters spend a summer on a tiny island off of Nantucket. Get deliveries from a hottie. Sisters working on their issues together. Love story lines etc.
I’ve been reading EH forever! I love her books, particularly the Winter series and Hotel Nantucket.
But then I also loved Summer of 69 and Golden Girl. I give up - I love them all! I actually like to read them in the winter to help me feel like summer and make me hate winter a little less.
Hi Nora! I don't think it's a stretch that a gaggle of similar NI fans would be delighted to attend a similar "EH bucket list" event, maybe at a Marriott in Phoenix? that way you could pop in and hang with us, but then head home to your normal life away from nerds who have found new life in your writing and speaking. You should consider it! we could keep it low budget..... But classy. With, like, canapes from Trader Joe's and a case of White Claw.
I just finished The Hotel Nantucket. My BFF and I have read and loved Elin H books for years. One of these days we HAVE to go to Nantucket for the event weekends with EH. Can’t go wrong with any of her books; I can’t think of any I didn’t enjoy
I’ve been reading Elin for ages and until just recently Blue Bistro was my top fave but now it’s Hotel Nantucket I think? Also I disagree with the comment that they’re all the same—I think other than the location and a few recurring characters her storylines are remarkably different. I love love love her so much
Your post made me read the Hotel Nantucket, my first Elin book with a likable ghost(!?) as a character and I loved it. I thought this email could be an invitation to an actual Nantucket sad persons’ retreat and would like to now strongly advocate for one.
I am in the same season where I only want to read romance because the rest of the world is such garbage but romance never lets me down. I love the predictability of it. Do I know all the literal twists and turns? No. But I don’t have to wonder if I’m going to be let down or try to figure out to solve any problems. The happily ever after is guaranteed, which brings me a tiny sliver of peace.
28 Summers definitely and I also wanted to re-read classics, watch high quality films and tv and read non-fiction. But , I am at the point where this is what I need.
Noraaaaaaaa. I have been a fan of Elin from the beginning. I have all the hardcovers… until reading on your phone became a thing. Stop and go “in order”. There’s not really an order but she’s very strategic in the characters and you’ll know a back story to a character you don’t REALLY need to know (but love that you do). Start with the Blue Bistro. You’ll be so happy you did! Ps miss you.
Can I go off the subject?? Your Mom is adorable and she adores you and vice versa. So charming. I love your style and she is your influencer too in a way. My Mom loves Elin. At 84, drives herself to the library weekly in the winter in Minnesota. She said last week, “I get anxious when I don’t have a new book.” Xo

Yes!! Read The Perfect Couple- love it, I'm a sucker for Scooter and star crossed-ish lovers in general. Also Summer of 69 was fun!
Hotel Nantucket & 28 Summers are the best! Her writing style and character development take a turn for the even better around 2019

Also 28 Summers, The Rumor, and the Matchmaker are all A++

Blue Bistro is my favorite of her books and I remember reading it on my original Kindle not long after I received it!

I am dreaming of the same thing!!!
Now I want to read these books!!! Thank you! In snowy tiny (only +\- 60 people live here in the extreme winters!) Pitkin, Colorado
Welcome to your new escape!!!

My mom is absolutely my biggest influence.
